Sorry it’s been a while but I’m back with another post. So without further ado, let’s start.
To write that first page, is just about the most important part of the whole book. It is what hooks readers onto reading the whole thing.
I believe that all books should start with a setting description, an introduction to the protagonist or piece of action. The setting should capture the true beauty, or cruelty, of the world you are trying to immerse a reader in. In action sequences at the start. There needs to be a conflict playing out being the antagonist and protagonist or a defying act against a corrupt leader. If you use an action scene, then readers will want to flip the page and see how it ends… or has it just begun.
For an introduction, you shouldn’t dump lots of backstory but rather leave questions unanswered to leasve mystery and wonder.
